Snowflakes

Action rhyme for babies

Literacy Tip

Hi, my name is Cydney and this is my 24-month-old son, Stephen. He loves music. This song is great because it repeats in every line. His brain connections are made stronger through repetition.

Here’s a tip: use cotton balls for snowflakes!

Transcript

(Tune: Did You Ever See a Lassie)

There’s a snowflake on my shoulder, my shoulder, my shoulder. There’s a snowflake on my shoulder and it’s melting away! There’s a snowflake on my elbow… There’s a snowflake on my tummy… There’s a snowflake on my knee… There’s a snowflake on my head…

  • Gee, I love this! I can’t wait to try it with my granddaughter – 3 1/2 months. I will use a butterfly for the spring and summer and even try to get a small one to use as I sing to her!! can’t wait for more. Thanks, Grace
